Karen Gilbert for District 5

After months of conversation with district residents and business leaders, past and present colleagues, fellow Tulsans from throughout the city, friends, and family, it is with a heart full of love for Tulsa and a spirit to serve that I am running to return to the Tulsa City Council to represent District 5.

Our city is faced with significant challenges regarding housing, homelessness, public safety, infrastructure maintenance, animal welfare, economic growth and business support and development that impact the quality of life for residents every day. While that may seem daunting, within each of these issues lies an opportunity for positive changes to be made on behalf of Tulsans if those entrusted with leadership positions maintain a focused commitment to educate themselves, communicate with the public, and collaborate in good faith with city departments, colleagues and stakeholders to rise above political rhetoric to produce positive results.

Tulsa is poised to make incredible progress in the years ahead to become a world class, globally recognized city we can all be proud to call home. We will need people of substance and sincerity to lead the way. I am ready and willing to roll up my sleeves and get to work bringing that energy back to City Hall and your support would mean the world to me.

For my family and yours and for the city we all love, the race has begun and I am in it for Tulsa.
