District 5 is one of Tulsa’s most diverse and engaged communities. It is home to longtime residents and newcomers, homeowners and renters, families and seniors, neighborhood organizations, small businesses, schools, nonprofits, and people who care deeply about where they live.

That kind of community deserves experienced leadership that listens, understands the district, and knows how to turn local priorities into action.

Since returning to office in 2024, Karen Gilbert has gotten right back to work for District 5. As Chair of the Tulsa City Council, she brings steady leadership, practical experience, and a service-first approach to City Hall.

Karen believes a councilor’s responsibility is straightforward: show up, listen carefully, communicate honestly, and serve the entire district with fairness and respect. She does not ask how someone votes before returning their call. She works across neighborhoods and points of view because every resident deserves access, every concern deserves serious attention, and District 5 deserves a strong advocate at City Hall.
