Revitalizing District 5
Healthy neighborhoods and strong local businesses depend on one another.
Karen supports responsible redevelopment, safe and clean commercial corridors, reliable infrastructure, and a city government that works constructively with businesses and developers investing in District 5. She believes new investment should strengthen existing businesses, improve surrounding areas, and contribute lasting value to the community.
She also believes property ownership carries responsibility and that surrounding neighborhoods should not bear the cost of long-term neglect. She continues to push for greater investment in code enforcement and stronger accountability for absentee owners and chronic nuisance properties that affect nearby residents, businesses, and public safety.
Her work across the district is focused on better maintenance, stronger commercial areas, thoughtful redevelopment, and returning neglected properties to safe, productive use. This work is not finished, and Karen remains committed to seeing it through.
